Regarding the Prohibition on Same-Gender Royalty in the SCA

Greetings,

As you may or may not be aware, SCA Law currently prohibits same-gender Royalty. From SCA Law (http://sca.org/docs/pdf/govdocs.pdf), page 21, Section IV, Part B, Paragraph 1- "Each competitor in a Royal Lists must be fighting for a prospective consort of the opposite gender."

I would like a better sense of where SCAdians in general stand on this matter. Without meaning to launch a debate on the subject (i.e. comment to your heart's content, but I can not and will not guarantee any acknowledgment or response to any comments), I would appreciate it if you could select the option(s) below which you feel most accurately summarize your beliefs regarding this law.

Thank you for your time.

I find this law acceptable as written.
97(25.1%)
This law would be acceptable if it specified that the consort's persona must be of the opposite gender.
73(18.9%)
This law would be acceptable if "of the opposite gender," was removed.
